O Departamento de Antropologia, com apoio do Núcleo de Etnografias Urbanas do Cebrap, promove o grupo de leitura dirigida Lendo Veena Das - Textures of the Ordinary: doing anthropology after Wittgenstein, de setembro à dezembro de 2021.
Organizado pela professora Taniele Rui (Unicamp, NEU/Cebrap) e por Camila Pierobon (IPP e NEU/Cebrap, Bolsista Fapesp), o grupo de leitura busca aglutinar pesquisadoras/es interessadas/os em aprofundar os estudos da obra de Veena Das. Nosso foco estará em seu último livro Textures of the Ordinary: doing anthropology after Wittgenstein, publicado em 2020.
O livro, baseado em duas décadas de trabalho etnográfico com famílias urbanas na Índia, reúne textos de diversos momentos da carreira de Veena Das e aprofunda teoricamente a interlocução com Wittgenstein e Cavell ao mesmo tempo em que reflete a noção de ética ordinária e de cotidiano no trabalho etnográfico. Neste semestre leremos do Prefácio ao Capítulo 5 do livro, com sugestões de Leituras Complementares.
O grupo terá 15 vagas. Os encontros serão quinzenais, online, sempre às sextas-feiras, entre 9h30 e 12h00, via plataforma virtual. Os encontros não serão gravados e nem expostos ao vivo ao público externo. O Grupo de Leitura Dirigida não tem caráter de aula expositiva, mas de estudo e discussão dos textos escritos em inglês. Assim, a participação demanda a leitura prévia dos textos e comentários de todos os presentes.
Os encontros serão registrados em minutas e sua elaboração será feita de forma intercalada pelos membros do grupo. Os textos estarão disponíveis em uma pasta criada para o curso no Google Drive. O Grupo de Leitura Dirigida não tem avaliação e não emite certificado de participação.
