Neste texto, procuro investigar o papel das resistências negras na luta contra o dispositivo de racialidade na obra Dispositivo de Racialidade: a construção do outro como não ser como fundamento do ser (2023), de Sueli Carneiro. Tenho a intenção de argumentar que as resistências negras – representadas por expoentes do movimento de mulheres negras e do movimento negro brasileiro contemporâneo, como Geledés - Instituto da Mulher Negra e Movimento Negro Unificado (MNU) – lutam contra o dispositivo de racialidade mediante a contestação das cláusulas do contrato racial e através do fortalecimento de sua negritude. Defendo que o fortalecimento da negritude é feito com base naquilo que Carneiro denomina como ética renovada. Considero que podemos observar a presença dessa ética renovada nas ações levadas a cabo por Geledés na década de 1990 na cidade de São Paulo. Destaco dois projetos nos quais Sueli Carneiro esteve direta ou indiretamente envolvida: o SOS Racismo e o Projeto Rappers (1992-2002). Minha sugestão é que, em ambos os projetos, vemos não somente as estratégias de conscientização racial e valorização político-cultural da negritude por meio do hip-hop, como a luta pelos direitos de cidadania da população negra na cidade de São Paulo.
In this text, I investigate the role of black resistance in the fight against the racial device in Sueli Carneiro's work Deployment of Raciality: the construction of the other as not being as the foundation of being (2023). I argue that black resistance – represented by exponents of the black women's movement and the contemporary Brazilian black movement, such as Geledés - Instituto da Mulher Negra and Movimento Negro Unificado (MNU) – fight against the racial device by challenging the clauses of the racial contract and by strengthening their blackness. I understand that the strengthening of blackness is based on what Carneiro calls renewed ethics. We can observe the presence of this renewed ethics in the actions carried out by Geledés in the 1990s in the city of São Paulo. I highlight two projects in which Sueli Carneiro was directly or indirectly involved: SOS Racismo and Projeto Rappers (1992-2002). My suggestion is that, in both projects, we see not only the strategies of racial awareness and political-cultural valorization of blackness through hip-hop, but also the fight for citizenship rights of the black population in the city of São Paulo.
